Owen’s project aims to determine the role of enzymes in the final steps of cholesterol catabolism and the incorporation of the resulting metabolites into Mycobacterium tuberculosis central metabolism. Understanding this process is crucial in understanding pathogenicity as well as identifying new, therapeutically relevant, vulnerabilities in M. tuberculosis.
